 Flyers of the Night

Who, who, who

The Flyers of the Night take flight

In spite of their ability to fly at night, many of you do not keep them in your sight

For their sightings are few

 

Soundscape

Now some of you refer to them as wise

And some of you feel they carry a disguise, they stay in the background

But many of you recognize their sound

For it is the Soundscape of the Land, that many of you understand

You may not see what is attached to, but you are privy to what is there

Some of you have the flare for fear, some of you have the flare for rejoice, some of you have the flare for I wonder whose voice that is, some of you have the flare for or

We the Flyers of the Night, in spite of who you are, we travel with the Stars, we travel with the Moon

And soon it will be time for others to wake up, and that is the nap time for us

 

Messages to You

We the Owl Species of the Earth are here to say to you, you have a role to play

And this role that you have to play is for today

By today we are referring to this present moment, this present time

For we are the kind who send through daily messages to you

By daily messages we send through messages in the day, and messages in the night

 

Hollow Trees

Now we may be Night Flyers, but that does not mean we are only seeing at night

For we like to hang out in a hollow tree

And if you have been aware of what we share, you may have noticed the numbers of trees that are hollow, the numbers of trees that are diseased, have increased

That may be good for us, but for you not so much

 

Pests

We the Night Flyers of the Land want you to understand, as the Earth begins to warm, those pests come in a swarm

Sure, they are a food source for some

But they gum up the works for others

You my dears let’s be clear, are here

 

Observers

You are observers, as observers we the Owls of the Land want you to understand, you have a role to play a responsibility as such

We could reach out and touch you, but what would the point of that

Rather we will continue to send through the same message to you, day in and day out

For as we sit in our hollow and observe, we see the curve of our domicile, we see the species within

And at present they are added to the balance

 

Role to Play

As in those pests that come through, we are here to say to you they are not a part of the present balance

Yes, my dears we are here to say to you, you have a role to play

If it is your goal to see less hollowed-out trees, do you see

Getting rid of the hollowed-out trees will not change a thing

But of course, it will effect us

 

Increased Warmth

Presently our food source is there, but the variety is not

For increased warm comes decreased moisture, in the Land

Do you understand

We the Night Flyers of the Land want you to understand, you have role to play

 

Missing on the Land

As we swoop low, as we silently cross the Land, we grow to understand what is missing on the Land

Do you understand

We see things differently than you

 

Roar

Pitter patter comes the rain

And then again so much for pitter patter, it’s more of a roar

And now of course we are in store for more and more water all together as One

That little trickle that once was, there is now a river

All the Land Species that once were there, now share with those who live in the water

It may be short lived, but it certainly gives a change

For it rearranges the ground, it rearranges the passageways

But if you stay a moment, if you stay a while, the rain will be gone the sun will come out

And steam will rise all about

 

Some of You

As we sit in the hollow of the tree, we see thee walk by

Some of you are shy, some of you are shut down, some of you hope to hear our sound, some of you hope to see us in your sight, some of you look at the ground as you walk, some of you talk while you walk, some of you touch while you walk, some of you are in touch while you walk, some of you sing, some of you dance, some of you enhance your walk, some of you are with a child, who smiles who asks why, you may not be the guy or the gal who knows, but you try to suppose anyway, some of you look for mystery, some of you look all the same, some of you come walking in runners, some of you come walking in boots, some of you avoid the shoots, some of you care less, some of you take in the view, some of you make the view, some of you are beyond you, some of you are inside of you, some of you are just learning to see what nature is all about, some of you are book smart, some of you are ground smart some of you are tree smart, some of you are bug smart, some of you are bird smart, some of you

 

Footprint

We the Owls of the Land want you to understand, although we don’t give a Hoot, how and why you walk out our way

We are here to say, you are welcome this way, especially if you understand you have a role to play

For each and everyone of you upon this day, have a Footprint some large, some small

And this Footprint we are referring to is not only what is underneath your shoe

It is about your presence on the Land, your understanding of the Land, your respect for the Land

Do you understand

For you may not even be in touch with the size of your Footprint

For what you do on a day-to-day basis, effects that footprint, makes it larger or smaller

We are aware of your Footprints the large and the small

We are asking of you one simple thing are you aware of your Footprint

Do you care of your Footprint, and do you understand you have a role to play

 

More Aware

As we spread out our wings, we send down our Love

You my sons and my daughters and those in between, have been seen

We are more aware of you than you are of us

And in many ways, it is a plus when you become more aware of us

For we know much more about you than you know about us

We would have absolutely no problem, if the learning was reversed

 

Thirst

For if you have a thirst for knowledge, if you have a thirst for wisdom, we are definitely willing to share

And we look forward to you climbing the Stair of Wisdom

We will share what we know, willingly

For we believe in give and take

Make no mistake we believe in give and take

It’s all part of the balance, it’s all part of the equilibrium

Large to Small

Peace be with you

And today is the day to understand the role you play, look at your footprint is it small or is it large

You my dears are charge, you can change your footprint, from large to small
