Footprints
We see
thee, as you cross the snow
We see
where your footprints go
Your
boots are large and clumsy
You’re
not careful, you proceed without fear
There are
times you smear your tracks, not fearing to attract attention
When you stop
you look different ways, you’re casual in a way
There are
many days you pay little attention to what is around you
Sounds
For your
head is surrounded by sounds, sounds that do not belong in nature
For they
are sounds of song, sounds of music
We on the
other hand belong in an alternate reality, for our footprints are careful,
our footprints are calculated
We are well
aware we share our presence with others
Our ears
are large, our feet are relatively small
We listen
intently to calls, to footfalls
When we
stop it is abrupt, it is like we’re frozen
We attempt
to blend in
Our ears
twitch this way and that
Attack
We wait for
signs of attack
Could it
be from across the ground, could it be from the air by the mere sound, could it
be up through the snow with a pounce and a go
Careful
We the
Hares of the Land want you to understand, we are careful in our movements,
we are careful with our signs
For we are
inclined to use all forms of adaptability we have at our toeprints
For as we
are well aware our footprints show who we are, whether we’re large or small
Our
footprints also tell are we hopping slowly, are we moving with great speed
Our
footprints also tell when we stop
As well
when we turn this way and that
We are well
aware of the fact that those of you who have a strong sense of smell, can
dwell in the scent of us
Some of
you use your eyesight and that’s when we try to blend in
Some of you
use your sheer might
Movement
We the Hares
of the Land want you to understand, we can travel quickly if the need arises
We can
cut corners, we can change direction
And we
can leap
Some would
complete that leaping in saying it is a mere long hop
We the Hares
of the Land want you to understand, we don’t care what you call it
We will use
what ever is at our disposal to escape
As we sit on
the Landscape attempting to blend in, we use all our senses
Signature
Message
And we wait
patiently for a Signature Message
For others
of our species, tend to warn us when the need arises
We look
for a hiding spot, we look to blend in
And we are
here to say to you, we find a way to adapt
When the
days get cold and the nights get long, we sing a different song, we find a
place to be
Protected
To be
covered ,to be protected
As the
snow falls and our footprints appear, we begin to see it is clear, we must by
necessity find something to eat
Bark the
thinner the better, is
our way of feeling much better
Our
choice of moisture comes from plants
Some of us
enhance that from a stream nearby
Survivors
We are
survivors just wait and see
And when
we get together, we
produce a large family
The
larger the better for us all together
For we are
wanting to continue to make our Ancestors proud
For we
may not be a loud species, we may not want to stand out
Senses
But as we
see you walking across the Land, we want you to understand, there are many
senses you hardly use
For some
of those senses are being abused
The music
you listen to is far too loud, many of you want to be a part of the crowd
Same
Being a
part of the crowd is like us wanting to blend in
You want to
be same; you want to be recognized as the same
Is the same
being in your own lane
Or is it
just a way for them to say, hey you’re okay
Wisdoms
We the
Hares of the Land want you to understand, don’t attempt to blend in and
leave you behind
For you are
the kind to carry with you many wisdoms of your own
And you
alone know what those wisdoms are
The next
time you walk across the Land, use all your senses and search and more
Explore
Explore
like a child touch as you go
And know
that everything you see is new
It is
the newness of spring, it is the newness of new life
For
although you may think you have seen this picture before, explore
So, you
will be able to see so much more
Turn off
your music, turn off the need to blend in
And be
happy to be you, yes all of you
Do You See
Look at the
footprints on the ground, do you hear the sound that goes with them
Can you see
where they are going and where they have come from
Do you see
how quickly they move
Do you see
the direction they are going in to
Do you
see the evidence that they stop for a bit
Where do
they sleep, what do they eat
Can all
this information be found in one complete footprint, no
Follow
those footprints, see where they go
Explore
The door
to Exploration is there before you
Your
Body
All you
need to do is walk through that door, venture further
We the Hares
of the Land want you to understand, there are times your body tells you more
than your senses do
There are
times the hair on the back of your neck, sends fear through you
There are
times you have a knowing, you have sense
There
are times you dive to the ground, there are times you pull yourself back
There are
times you go forward, only to turn back
We the Sky
People are here to say to you, yes you have many senses
Yes, your
body tells you things
Our Messages
But we
do too
Our
messages come to you in a variety of ways
Some of
you may consider it intuition
Some of
you may feel it in your gut
Some of
you feel a nudge, some of you feel a pressure
Some of you
have what you might refer to as an aha moment
Some of you
feel persuaded to change your direction
Some of you
slow down for no apparent reason
Some of you
feel you need to stay longer you know not why
Safe
We the Sky People
we your Ancestors try, try, try again, to keep you safe
Some of you
can’t help yourself, for you feel you’re always in charge
There
are times you are, there are times you are far from it
So, we the Hares
of the Land want you to understand, you each have many gifts
All we
suggest of you is to learn how to unwrap those gifts, and put them to the
best use
Gifts
We the
Hares of the Land want you to understand, we too each have a gift, that
makes us individuals, but part of a family
But as part
of a family, we choose to share
We
declare that we will share for the betterment of all
Some
suggest it’s only the survival of the fittest
We the Hares
of the Land want you to understand, it’s not necessarily how fit you are, it is
more to do with, how you use your gifts
And how you
can blend with your family to share your gifts
Offer
Not all
families understand each individual gifts
All you can do is offer or invite
We the Hares
of the Land want you to understand, there times in spite of all your
efforts, in spite of all your trials, you will receive smiles but you will also
receive doubts
Blinded
We the Hares
of the Land want you to understand, those who doubt you, judge you through
their eyes
They do not
see what you see, they do not sense what you sense, they do not hear what you
hear
It would
appear they are blinded to the sight that you see through all your senses
That is
their blindness not yours
So, take
up your oar, row at the speed you can
And plan
your course explore
For the
door is waiting for you to learn to explore
