We Know What is at Stake

 Our Stamp

Slither, slide

If you want to come inside our world, you need to slither and slide

For us to get by, we need moisture, for us to get by, we need the damp

Our stamp on the world, are the passageways we leave behind

And we are also inclined to leave behind what we have ingested, once we have divested of it

 

Break Down

As in we would like to suggest that we do our best to help things break down

For can you imagine the sound, if nothing broke down

The piles would be immense

Therefore, my dears we want to make perfectly clear, it is our intent to make a dent

 

Best Interests

Now some of you squirm when you see us, and some of you just say plain ew

But we are there for you, we have your best interests in mind

And we are well aware, we are inclined to be used as bait

Now we will not delay to say, that we are not so happy upon this day, for we recognize our days are numbered

Now we continue on our path, we continue on our way

For as we said before, we are there for you

 

You Leave Much Behind

Sure, as you can see, we proceed to feed ourselves and get rid of the rest

Now we must attest that you leave much behind

So, we the Worms of the Land want you to understand, worry not we are a lot

We work day and night

And instead of your Labour Laws getting in the way, we just say, we eat until we’ve had our fill

And still just a bit is left behind

 

For Your Soil

And we are inclined to say those bits and pieces we’ve left behind, are there for you, there for your soil

So, boil no longer when you see us on your way, for we are here to stay, we have a job to do

 

Many Fold

We are a food source for many, we understand that

And that is why we are here to say to you, we display a rebirth so to speak

As in our numbers become increased many fold

Now some of you many suggest that’s bold, and right you are

For we have a job to do

 

Leave Some of Us Behind

Don’t see us as yukky, don’t see us as gross

For we may not be pretty, we may not feel great, but we want you to anticipate what the world would be like without us there

We share in the space with you, and many others

That is why we are here to say, we are here to stay, as long as it takes

So, as we under take our role in life, all we ask of you, is to leave some of us behind

 

Thank Us

For you are perhaps somewhat inclined to thank us for what we do

For much of what we do is behind the scenes, away from the main fare

For many of you will declare, you like things nice and tidy

We too are with you

But in a different way, for in most cases we like to be beneath, away from the peering eyes

And when we are not, in many cases you are surprised

Delighted is not a word we would use

Unless of course we are of another use

 

 A Part in That

So, we ask of you allow us to do what we do best and we can attest eventually you will know we are present, eventually you will know we are there

For as the undergrowth disappears, as the undergrowth becomes less, we can attest we had a part in that

We work hand in hand with many other species, who do things very much the same, who are in similar lanes beneath the ground

 

Enmeshed

But all of us have one thing in common and that is we enmeshed in the beat of Mother Earth

For we are Earthen Bound

We listen to her sound, we hear the messages she sends through

And we do what we are instructed to do

Therefore, my dears we want to make it perfectly clear, if we just appear to be hanging around with nothing to do, keep in mind we are just following through with instructions

These are instructions you are no privy to, for you don’t need to know

For as priorities go, you are on a need-to-know basis, and you don’t need to know

 

Not Always About You

We the Worms of the Land want you to understand many of us who live beneath the ground, many of us who you hear not a sound from, we all have a role to play, we all have a part

And your part is to allow us to carry on

If we are in your vicinity observe and walk away

For we are here to stay, we are here to do what we do

For it is not always just about you

You too have a role to play

And we are here to say we have no reason to get in your way

Therefore, my dears we the Worms of the Land want you to understand, play your role, be the best you can be

And we all will benefit from that

 

Through Vibration

If we could sing, we would, if we would have a voice of choice we would sing, but although you don’t hear the ring of our voice, we definitely choose our voice of choice

But it is silent to your ears

But let us be very clear we communicate our needs, and we proceed in a similar way slowly, methodically, carefully, through vibration, through time

We are inclined to send through exactly what we want to get to others who need to know

For as we go through the ground the tiny sound of our presence is heard and observed

For as we penetrate the ground munching here and munching there, we would like to declare other species move out of our path

 

Nice Juicy Meal

And then of course there are always those who are looking for us for a nice juicy meal

They too listen to our vibration, listen to our presence

In essence they know we’re there

And instead of wanting to share the space with them, they’re there to let us know who is in charge

And by in large, we have no say in it

All we can do, is carry through what we are meant to do

 

 Be the Very Best

We listen, we wait, we anticipate, and we venture forward

We the Worms of the Land want you to understand, all we are trying to do is follow through on our role

For it our goal to be the very best at this role, for we know what is at stake
