We Need Our Space
Here
comes the dust storm, here comes the rush
Do you
hear the sound of many feet
For they
beat their feet across the ground
And if
you humans are around, you will know them by their sound
It is
continuous, it is a beat
But for
most of you will not meet us on the street, not at all
We the
Buffalo of the Land want you to understand, we need our space
Strength
in Numbers
We need
our openness, we need our grass
For as long
as we can continue to see not a tree, we will rest easy, we will graze
It
sounds to you like a lazy life
But we the
Buffalo of the Land want you to understand, we are survivors, we look out
for each other
We move
in the cover of others
For with
others, we have strength in numbers
Sacrifice and Celebration
Yes, we
are massive, yes, we are huge
But our
bulk, our size, is all you tend to see, with your eyes
Many of
you do not see us from within
For we
are more than the skin that covers our body
We are a
sacrifice, to you, we are a celebration
It is
within that sacrifice and celebration, that we bring many of you together
For those
who choose to hunt us with care, declare we will use all of you
As in
nothing will be left behind
Sacred
Being
We the
Buffalo of the Land want you to understand, we are a Sacred Being
And as a
Sacred Being, we have been seen by many as untouchable
We can be
touched and we can send through Loving Energy to many of you
As our
feet beat across the ground, we send Loving Energy through to you
Some of
you see us as ferocious, some of you see us as protective
We can
be both
A Consumer
and a Distributor
We the
Buffalo of the Land want you to understand, yes, we eat, acres and acres and
acres of grass
But we are
here to say, we also return to the Land, do you understand
As in we
giveth, as we taketh away
As in
you need us, we’re here to say
We are a
consumer and a distributor
In our
way of distribution, we give back
Give Back
We the
Buffalo of the Land want you to understand, when you live on the Land, if
you want the Land to give to you, you too need to give back
It’s an
easy track
Take and
give (repeated again and again to the beat of a drum)
Our Side
of the Bargain
The Land
needs us, as we need the Land
Do you
understand
We are
all related, we are all connected
As animal
species we have not been injected, subjected, rather than we have developed
a relationship and have kept up our side of the bargain
That’s
it plain and simple
As you
take, give back
Enough
to go Around
Grasslands
have a place, as do forests
So, do
we
Not too
many, not too few
For we the
Buffalo of the Land, understand when there are too many of us, it is
definitely not a plus
For if
our numbers exceed our grass, we simply won’t last
We the
Buffalo of the Land want you to understand, we keep our number just so
So,
there’s enough to go around
You
humans understand that sound
Form of
Love
Share
the wealth, do it together
By wealth we
not just referring to money in your pocket, not at all
We are
suggesting to many of you share what you have
And when
you give to another, no matter how big or small, you give to yourself
It is a
win, win
So, win,
give
The act
of giving, is a form of love
Try it
out, you’ll feel good
See a Different Sight
If you don’t
want to give to another, give to the Land, give the Waters, give to the Air
You can
even declare what that gift might be
It might even
be, an opportunity for another to see
See what
you see, through your eyes
For it may
come as a great surprise to many of you, you can still stand side by side
and see a different sight
You might
like to declare what you see; you might like to declare what you’d like to see
You see
Share
Each of
you brings a different perspective, each of you brings a different history
So, you
see
Share
what you see, share what you believe you see
Share
what you know, share what you hear
Presence
Share
what you sense, share the presence beside you
For not all
people feel the presence of another, they have to see them, they have to touch
them, they have to hear them, they have to have proof
For some
of you, poof that presence appears
And you
do not need any proof they are there
For they
share an experience with you
You can
feel their energy, you know it’s them
And another
will look at you and say, ahem who are you talking to
You may
choose to utter oh no one, or you may choose to venture further
Different Lanes
Not all see,
not all feel, not all hear, or touch the same
For we
are all in different lanes
We are in
different times of life, past, present and future all rolled in One
For that’s
just it, it’s all about now
We the
Buffalo of the Land want you to understand, there is much to this Earth that
you don’t know, there is much to this Earth that presents itself to you
through a feeling, through a touch
And many of
you do not understand as much, so you ignore that feeling, you ignore that
touch
But you
are being touched just the same
So,
allow that lane its room
If you
feel something unfamiliar you can’t quite put your finger on it, a presence is
near
Sit with
a presence, allow it to be
For you
are feeling something, for a reason
Ignore
not, allow it to be
Don’t
choose to get busy, don’t choose to shy away
Just
stay
Complete
the Cycle
We the
Buffalos of the Land want you to understand, each blade of grass is there
for us
We are
there for them as well
For as we
eat, we help to complete the cycle and leave something behind
Some of you
might suggest to others, eww we know what they mean
But if you
come across the grand scheme of things, both are necessary
You can’t
have one without the other
You can’t
have dark, without the light
You can’t
have sorrow, without happiness along the way
Understand
Life
Yes, we the
Buffalo of the Land want you to understand, you need both to understand life
Coming
and going, birth and death
Rebirth,
transformation
Presence,
absence
It’s an
existence of opposites
Give and
take, take and share
And declare
we are in this together, there is no other way
